Glass Half Full

BBC Radio 4

In this new series, Fi Glover pits optimists against pessimists in a new topical debating format. Recorded in front of an audience at the LSE and at the Women of the World Festival at the Southbank Centre, a lead speaker on each side presents their argument, calling on witnesses to support their point of view.

As well as the issue under discussion, the debate explores the contributors’ point of view, their cast of mind, the way they arrive at and sustain their arguments. How do they interpret contemporary evidence to support their world view? The series begins by considering the proposition ‘We can look forward to a healthier future’. Followed by debates on gender equality, population growth and the effects of technology on young lives.
