Comedian Mark Watson considers the advantages and problems that come with ‘staying in touch with your inner child’ as you grow older. There’s a growing trend for “regressive” fun for adults, with colouring book sessions, ‘playtimes’, bouncy castles and ball pits being marketed to grown-ups; and the cereal cafes serving favourite childhood cereals to grown-up customers. Mark samples some of this activity and ask why people want to behave like children. Have we just forgotten what it’s like to be young ? Or are we afraid of growing up?
