Martin Gayford – Travels for My Art

BBC Radio 3

Critic Martin Gayford writes and presents five essays that recount some of the extraordinary journeys he has made in the name of art.

These aren’t typical holiday destinations, but voyages to often rather in accessible corners of the globe to see rare works of ancient and modern art. He’ll take us to a modern art Shangri-La on a remote island in Japan, to the bleak north of Iceland and the wilds of Romania.

Martin’s characteristic self-deprecation reveal the agonies and ecstasies of being an art critic.
